Why GroupLinked?
From the very beginning of LinkedIn, there has been constant tension between those who wish to build the reach of their networks by "direct connecting" with new people - and those who prefer to "direct connect" only with people whom they already know well... but who still want the benefits of access to a wider and more diverse network of people.
It seemed that there should be some middle ground - where both sides could have the best of both worlds - where you could have all the benefits of being one degree of contact away from more people, but without having to have everyone "direct connect" with everyone else - and now there is...
